Capitol.

The supposed photo of the Capitol Theatre:

As the previous commenter has said, this photo is not of the Capitol Theatre. In addition, the Capitol was located on the southwest corner of Queen and Bank (building address 222 Queen St. with the CIBC bank at the corner).

Your photo of "today" is of the former Met Life Bldg where the Royal Bank is. That is the southeast corner.

I remember seeing movies at the Capitol in the 1950s and 60s. It was a grand building (and was Ottawa's best before the NAC which in effect, replaced it).

Hope this is helpful. Good site. Keep up the good work.
