The Byward Market is bounded south by Rideau Street, east by King-Edward Avenue and by the Ottawa River on the north and west side.
The department of foreign affairs, the widening of King-Edward Avenue to accommodate highway 5 on the Quebec side were the biggest changes in the north end of the Byward Market.

A lot to say about this comparison, even though we said it all in the past. First of all, the building which only the facade shows in the archive picture is the Daly building which was abandoned in the late 1970s after decades of laisser-aller from its owner, the NCC....
